New Changes to Ad Rotation

on May 1, 2012

Google announced on their blog yesterday a new change to the ad rotation setting rolling out next week.  Campaign set to “Rotate: show ads more evenly” will now only roll out for 30 days and after this, will default to “Optimise for clicks”. Any time a creative is enabled or edited, the ads will be evenly rotated for a new 30 days.

For most campaigns this will mean that in a month or so ad rotation will be changed to optimise for clicks unless there are changes to creative before that time. Google states that this change help advertisers to improve performance as the setting is mainly intended to trial new creative and that when run indefinitely, it can inhibit overall account performance.
